The Nigerian army has deployed thousands of troops to
Borno state capital Maiduguri, as President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign
train visits the city.
Thousands of troops were spotted on the Maiduguri airport’s Jos road causing major disturbance on major roads and streets in the city.

The soldiers were kitted with brand new rifles and stationed five meters apart.
The developement has caused unease among residents who are complaining that they are unable to get to their destinations.
A journalist, Kolo Dala, told Sahara reporters that he had had a tough time before getting to the Government House, Maiduguri, where he was to meet colleagues, because it took him more than an hour instead of fifteen minutes to get there.
A resident, Yusuf Usman, said that he witnessed military and policemen that looked battle-ready in preparation for the rally.
Maiduguri is the capital of Borno state, which has been greatly affected by Boko Haram terrorists.
