LASG PROMOTES 114 FIRE OFFICERS

In recognition of their transformational leadership role 114 officials of the Lagos State Fire service were on Monday decorated with new ranks in commensuration with their new promotion. The event which took place at the conference room of the Ministry of Special Duties and inter-governmental Relations secretariat, Alausa was one of the avenues designed by the Ministry to build culture of excellence and appreciate monumental achievements recorded by laudable officers during the year.
While decorating the officers, Commissioner for Special Duties and inter-governmental Relations, Oluseye Oladejo congratulated the newly promoted officers for distinguishing themselves by being discipline, selfless, committed and abiding by the norms and values of the civil service. Remarking that government is not unmindful of the risk and hazard associated with their official engagement and has prioritises their welfare, enhance professionalism and above all provide them with conducive working environment.
According to him, Lagos as a mega city is not immune against challenges but the ability and readiness of the officers to promptly respond and cushion the effect of hardship being thrown at people whether by nature or human error are the qualities that stand the officers out among their counterparts. The commissioner expressed that the new face of Lagos fire service is committed to service delivery and which  has earn them the respect and confidence of Lagosians.
In her earlier remark, the Permanent secretary of the Ministry, Dr Ibironke Sodeinde noted that the feat recorded in this year promotion exercise was unprecedented in the history of the old fire fighting directorate. She described the officers as vibrant, effective and responsive as many lives have been saved through their doggedness and dedication to duty and advised them not to relent on their oars in combating fire outbreaks in Lagos.

The event which lived up to its top billing had the Director Lagos Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe expressed that the good performance of the officers justified the tax money been expended on them by the government and also fulfil dreams and aspirations to bequeath to the good people of the State competence officers who can rub shoulders with their colleagues around the world.  He commended the lucky officers and advised them to be good ambassadors of the state and respond to all calls regardless of time or source.
